My Thoughts:

"Baroness" is the second book in the Daughters of Fortune series, but easily reads as a stand alone. In fact, I hadn't realized it was part of a series until after I finished the novel.

Taking place in the 1920's, this story will transport you back into the wild times of the Roaring 20's and make you feel like you are really there. The characters are real - real enough to make me end up with feelings of dislike and many other emotions. There were so many times I wanted to shake those girls and give them a reality check. Their self-centered attitudes and things that they did just angered me and made me grumble more than once.

Full of excitement and very difficult situations, the story-line is captivating and was difficult to put down. I lost a lot of sleep one night because I had to see what was going to happen next. Tackling some difficult situations, this novel had me in tears at times. It is a story about mistakes, wrongs, faith and healing and truly one that will be with me for a long time.

Susan May Warren is a new to me author, and after reading "Baroness", I really want to get my hands on more of her books! I am excited about the next book in the series "Duchess" and will be looking forward to reading the first book: "Heiress" in the very near future!

If you have not read any of Susan's books, I highly recommend that you pick one up today. She's an amazing writer!
