About the Book:

A surprise visit from Blake and Devon's uncle, Dominic, demanding both vampires, come home immediately to find what is ailing his son Anton, puts everyone on edge. Can vampires get sick?

Devon doesn't appreciate Dominic's demands, but agrees to fly back to Connecticut with Darby, since Blake has a job to finish up in California. Excited to meet more of Devon's family, Darby is confused by Devon's distance and coldness since Dominic's visit. In Connecticut, this only gets worse when a gorgeous Libby, Anton's estranged wife, shows up unexpectedly and seems to have her sights set on Devon. To top it all off, there's seems to be some pent up animosity, Anton and Devon have towards each other.

What is this strange power Libby has over the men in this family? And what's wrong with poor Anton? Why does it seem that Anton and Devon hate each other? These are all question Darby sets out to answer in this third volume of the Blood Series.

My Thoughts:

Get ready to cozy up with some sexy vampires, witches and werewolves. With autumn coming, this is a good choice to snuggle up with in your favorite chair with your favorite afghan. Blood Lust starts with a family gathering at Thanksgiving. With the appearance of a surprise family member, you are introduced to all the main and important characters of the story. This creates familiarity with the both the "cast" and the back-story making this a great book to ease into the series with and can easily be read as a stand alone. With all the information about the characters in just a few pages, it seemed overwhelming at first, but I didn't feel like I was lost and had missed out on some major events.

I enjoyed the story, although I found it a little predictable in places, but at the same time, there were some surprises that I didn't see coming! When I started reading, I thought I would just get a couple of chapters in, but it was so captivating that I found time had flown and I had finished half the book! Tolles weaves an interesting tale and has an amazing ability to captivate the reader.

I did get frustrated with Darby's amount of self-pity but I imagine that it would have been difficult in her situation. Her character was one I'm not sure I really liked. I'm planning on going back to read the other books in the series to see if there's something I'm missing when it concerns her. My favorite had to be Dominic - he had a sense of humor I adored.

This book is rated young adult, but I'm hedging more towards the older teen. There are a couple of "racy" scenes, nothing too descriptive, but not for the younger teen. As always, I encourage parents to read any book with questionable content before handing it to their child.

About the Author:

Born and raised in Silicon Valley, T. Lynne Tolles is a stay-at-home mom, part-time bookkeeper and writer. In the summer of 2009 she claims she got a 'wild hair' and sat down in front of her computer and wrote "Blood of a Werewolf'" in three weeks. She started "Blood Moon" and "Blood Lust" back to back, the following week.

"It was never my intention to become a writer, but the more I wrote, the more addicted I became."

The Blood Series books presently include four titles and a fifth has been started.
